WE LIVE TOURISM
Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group (FMTG) is one of the leading providers and developers of tourism products and services in Central Europe. This includes everything from hotel development, planning, implementation and management to advice in the field of tourism property development, advice about management and marketing for hotels and investors, and international market observation and assessment. At the moment (as of the end of 2009), the Group has over 1,300 employees from 13 different countries. FMTG’s entire portfolio consists of over 40 companies from all areas of the tourism industry. The most prominent of these are without a doubt the 24 hotels and two residences currently operating in five European countries (Austria, South Tyrol/Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Croatia). The Falkensteiner Hotels are divided into the following strategic product lines: family hotels, wellness hotels and city hotels.
Since the founding of Falkensteiner Hotels (now Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences, an important part of FMTG) as a family-run company with a small hotel in Ehrenburg, South Tyrol, in 1957, the company has seen rapid development.
There are now three pillars that make up the foundation of FMTG: the Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences mentioned before, the project management and consultation company Michaeler & Partner (founded in 1995) and FMTG Development, the professional project developer for the Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences.
The company generates turnover of nearly EUR 75 million (end of 2008), and with more than 3,400 rooms (as of the end of 2009), it provides over 1.4 million guests a year from around the world with the opportunity to spend their holidays, relax and recuperate in premium four-star, four-star superior and five-star hotels.
The company’s management is located in the head office in the Austrian capital of Vienna. The Management Board consists of Erich Falkensteiner (CEO), Otmar Michaeler (CEO), Claudia Beermann (CFO) and Alexander Rössler (COO). It receives support from Hotel Management, Development, Michaeler & Partner and Marketing & PR.
