SALZBURG

This city with a magnificent Baroque Old Town has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. Hohensalzburg fortress is the largest completely preserved castle in central Europe, Mozart was born at no. 9 Getreidegasse and Schloss Hellbrunn is one of the finest examples of Mannerist architecture north of the Alps. Also not to be missed are the many Baroque churches and the Mirabell Garden.

VILLACH

The closest you‘ll get to the Mediterranean in Austria. For centuries, a river crossing, trading centre, border town and hub for many important transport routes.  These traditional roles continue to leave a positive mark on the lifestyle and self-confidence of Villach‘s residents. They are a cosmopolitan crowd, always happy to engage with outsiders, industrious and fun-loving. That is reflected not just in the townscape, but also in the high-quality of the cultural events
and festivals staged here, such as the famous Villach Shrovetide carnival.

SWIMMING LAKES IN CARINTHIA

Carinthia can boast more than just splendid mountain landscapes; with its wide range of lakes and watercourses, it is also perfect for lakeside holidays and watersports. The four largest lakes in Carinthia are the Wörthersee, Millstätter See, Ossiacher See and the Weissensee. The Wörthersee is, of course, a meeting place for the international jet set ... as the array of grand yachts and pleasure boats clearly indicate. KLAGENFURT: The mild, southern climate, one of Austria‘s most beautiful Old Towns, its friendly inhabitants and the culinary specialities on offer give Klagenfurt a special appeal. Right beside the Wörthersee, Europe‘s warmest Alpine lake, the town has so much to offer. Sport, swimming in the lake, relaxation, shopping, wandering through the Old Town or culture − there is something here to suit all tastes.

MINIMUNDUS

The ”little world by the Wörthersee“ with around 150 true-to-scale replicas of world-famous buildings fascinates young and old. To date, over 15 million visitors.
