Lead architect Matteo Thun
Born in Southern Tyrol, Matteo Thun is a world-renowned designer and internationally successful architect. Aged just 21, he had already attended Oskar Kokoschka’s "School of Seeing" in Salzburg.
Until 1975 he studied architecture in Florence, and in 1978 he went to Milan to join Ettore Sottsass’ design team. In the early 1990s he became the artistic director of Swatch, and then designed for Bulgari, WMF and Villeroy & Boch.
Matteo Thun has also created numerous award-winning architectural projects, such as the interior design of the Side Hotel in Hamburg, the Radisson SAS Hotel in Frankfurt, and the Nhow Hotel in Milan. The architecture and design of Therme Meran and the Vigilius Mountain Resort also derive from his unique vision. He is a member of the Design Hall of Fame in New York, and the Royal Association of British Architects.
